How to Fix a Sony Playstation 2 Disc Read Error

Still have a Sony Playstation 2, but can't play it due to the fact it won't read any disc. Well The Old School Game Vault, puts together this nice video showing you how to go about fixing it.

To start with you'll need a couple of screwdrivers, permanent marker, PS2 AC Cord. The video will go over what items exactly you need.

Then you basically start to dismantle the unit, it doesn't really seem that hard. The video shows that you remove the 8 screws on the bottom of the unit, and of course breaking the warranty seal. The video dosn't go through unscrewing all the screws due to the you tube time restraints.

Once the unit is opened you need to remove 4 screws that cover the disc eject tray. Once the screws are removed, you'll be guided on what to do next. Bsically you are going to readjust the gear that controlls how close the lasers eyes is to your discs. You adjust it by turning the gears either one notch clockwise or counterclockwise. You keep adjusting the gear until you fix the problem.

Once the problem is resolved, you put the unit back together.

Fixing a disc read problem isn't to hard just follow the video and have some patience, but at anytime your sick of your ps2, then go a head and sell the console and sell games, to get a newer one.
